Hog Island Oyster Co. started in 1983 and has been farming sustainable shellfish on Tomales Bay ever since. The farm at 20215 Highway 1 in Marshall is where you shuck your own at the outdoor picnic tables. Thursdays are walk-in; Friday through Monday is the full cafe with a raw bar, grilled oysters, and local beer — reservations recommended. They also have a location at the Ferry Building in San Francisco.
