Oysters on Tomales Bay — Hog Island and The Marshall Store

The two oyster spots in Marshall everyone sends friends to. Hog Island has the farm with outdoor tables on the water. The Marshall Store grills them and serves Tomales Bay Oyster Company shellfish. Both are worth the drive up Highway 1.

This is a day trip, not a quick errand. Hog Island Oyster Co. sits right on their own farm, with outdoor tables overlooking Tomales Bay and the Inverness Ridge. You can shuck your own on Thursdays without a reservation or do the full cafe service Friday through Monday. The Marshall Store is a few miles south on Highway 1, serving oysters from Tomales Bay Oyster Company — grilled, raw, or in a stew, with a view of the bay from the deck. Both are worth the drive.
