Marin happy hour is a real sport, and the hours move, so check before you go. These are the rooms we would actually sit in: a waterfront, a margarita, a spritz, a negroni. Not every special in the county.

    Monday through Thursday, 3 to 5. Ten-dollar margaritas and palomas, empanadas, mango habanero wings. The one we would pick first.

    Waterfront, a long window, oysters on special. Sit outside if the weather is even thinking about being nice.

    Spritz hour on Bridgeway, Monday through Friday 3 to 6. French, oysters, the feeling that you left town without leaving town.

    Aperitivo, weekdays 3 to 6. Negronis, spritzes, fried olives, the easy Mill Valley after-work table.

    The classic. Weekday 4 to 6, downtown, the one you have been going to since you were allowed to. Still good.
