Marin happy hour stretches from the Sausalito waterfront to the Town Center in Corte Madera, and the hours move more than you think. These are the rooms we would actually send a friend to: a view of the bay, a proper spritz, oysters on special, a margarita you mean to order twice. Not every deal in the county.     Happy hour Monday through Friday, 4 to 6. Discounted oysters, beer, wine, and cocktails with a view of Mt Tam from the Marin Country Mart. No reservations, walk-in only. This is the one we would pick first.

  2. Sausalito

    Barrel House Tavern

    Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, noon to 9. Six-dollar drafts, house wine, and well cocktails. Half-dozen local oysters for twelve dollars. The waterfront view is the real draw — this is the old ferry terminal, and every seat looks out at the bay.

  3. Mill Valley

    Club Cuatro runs Tuesday through Thursday, 4 to 6, at the bar. Tacos, margaritas, and the energy of downtown Throckmorton. Fridays start at 4 but end at 5, so do not show up late. Closed Mondays.

    Spritz hour Monday through Thursday, 3 to 6. French bistro on Bridgeway with oysters and the feeling you left town without leaving town. Not Fridays — check their menu page for the current list.

    Happy hour daily: Monday and Tuesday 3 to close, Wednesday through Sunday 3 to 6. Classic margaritas, sangria, guacamole, carnitas tostadas.

    Aperitivo weekdays at the bar, 3 to 6. Negronis, spritzes, fried olives, and that easy Mill Valley after-work table with a view of Mt Tam from the patio.

    The tequila bar on Bridgeway with a 100% gluten-free kitchen and house-made corn tortillas. Bar specials change — check their site or call before you plan around it. Even without a deal, the margaritas and the room are worth the trip.

    The downtown trattoria on Miller Avenue. They run aperitivo specials at the bar on weekdays — call ahead to confirm the current hours, since third parties disagree and the site does not list them. The one you have been going to since you were allowed to.
