Mill Valley Golf Course is at 267 Buena Vista Avenue in Mill Valley, on the hill above downtown. The nine-hole course opened in 1920 and is run by the nonprofit Mill Valley Golf Club Inc. Walking only, no carts, no tee times — you show up and play in order of arrival. The course is short but hilly, with tight fairways through redwoods and oaks. Par is 33. The small clubhouse has sandwiches, snacks, and cold beer. It is one of the last old-style municipal courses in the Bay Area.
