Hog Island Oyster Company

Hog Island Oyster Company is at 20215 Shoreline Highway in Marshall, on the east shore of Tomales Bay. You sit at picnic tables right next to the water where they farm the oysters. They sell oysters by the dozen, raw or grilled, along with clams, mussels, and accompaniments. Bring your own bread, cheese, and wine — they provide the shucking knives, charcoal grills, and gloves. Reservations are required for outdoor tables; book online. The retail shack sells oysters to go. Hog Island started in 1983 and also runs restaurants at the San Francisco Ferry Building and Larkspur.
